Tales of Vendetta is a site for all roleplayers, levels ranging from beginner to advanced. We support the best grammar you can muster, and Tomfoolery will cut out your brain and feed it to Tiggy if you typ lik dis k yo? There is a pretty simple system when it comes to punishment, shown here:Please note that we will not just suspend or ban you without taking up your situation with you and explaining what you did wrong and asking why you did it, via private messages.
- Warning 1: A 25% warning bar and a slap on the wrist.
- Warning 2: A 50% warning bar and a week long suspension.
- Warning 3: A 75% warning bar and a two week suspension.
- Warning 4: A 100% warning bar and an IP ban.
POSTING REQUIREMENTS
Look, here on TOV, we simply require from new members that you keep your posts at least one hundred words long. It sounds like a lot, but in all honesty, you should be able to do that in your sleep! If you need help, just message one of the two admins and we'll assist you as best as we can.
In your post we require that you type properly. In the c-box it is okay to type with a little bit of text talk (i.e. omg! he did what?! lol!) but in your post, your horse cannot be hollaring "OMG OMG!" while lol'ing to herself. No. Just no.
Also, try your best to stay in your animal's character. If your horse is a complete jerk to everyone and everything, then in your posts he must be a jerk to everyone and everything! Look, people, no-one is going to take offense to what you say to them in IC - it's not like it's you talking, it's your character; and your character is how you wanted him to be.
If your character has a foul mouth, alright, we understand - cussing is allowed during posting. Sexual innuendos, etc, are also... but no getting too graphic, which is what we're about to get on to next...
BREEDING & FOALING
NO GRAPHIC BREEDING. Seriously, that's gross. If you're the type of person that gets off on two horses bumpin' uglies, go somewhere else - we do not wanna read about it. It's not hard to make a post where your characters... you know, and make it 'G'-rated. I've seen it done before and I'm sure you guys can think of something! =D
Now... once bred, your mare will hold her foal in that tummy of her's for one TOV year, which is equivalent to one month in real life time. Try and keep her safe! Injuries during pregnancy can mean a sick foal, if not a still born.
Once the one real life month is up, the sire and the dam are required to each fill out a form and post it. Once this is done, one of the two admins will come and decide the looks, color, and race of your baby. Then, the two of you can decide who will play the foal.
The form for the sire and dam to fill out, is here:
Name: your character's name.
Age: lol.
Gender: uhm, duh.
Height: tall, or short? 16-17 hh?
Personality: right hurr, brotha.
Appearance: yeepp.
REMEMBER! The admin might chose for your foal to be a still born, or to have some type of injury! You never know, you might even get twins!
CREATION
I guess you can't be doing any of the stuff above with a little knowledge on this, yeah? It's basically pretty simple; all you have to do is fill out the creation form and post it as a new thread. The thread's name can only be the name of your character, period. It gets hard trying to keep up with all these 'and the lily dies..' and 'BROK3N 4EVER$.'
For unicorns; other than the horn a unicorn already has, no other mutations are allowed (wings, spikes, etc..) upon creation but with extra posting you can buy them at the store! A unicorn may only have odd colors if you purchase them at the store, just like with the other mutations. Per IP address, you are only allowed two unicorns. It's not fair if everyone has unicorn and there is only like, four horses running around willy-nilly. Please, no unicorns above the age of 900.
For horses; one odd color is allowed for free. Mutations must be purchased at the store. Per IP address, a limit of five horses is allowed. Any more than that is starting to get ridiculous. Please, no horses above the age of 30.
Each breed is allowed two accessories (a pair of ear-rings and a necklace, etc.)
GEMS & OTHER OOC INFORMATION
Gems are the method of currency here on Tales of Vendetta. For each post you make on the site, five gems will be added to your balance. These gems will be revoked if you purchase something, obviously, and once you purchase there are no refunds. During contests or holidays, gems may be given out - it depends on the contest host or whether the admins feel it necessary.
In OOC, you are expected to be civil. No cussing people out and sleeping with their mothers. There shouldn't be any reason for someone to dislike someone else on here - and if you have a problem with someone, please take it up via private messages and if you can't reach a solution, contact one of the admins. Please no revealing private information on the c-box (phone number, address, etc) and please remember you really don't know who is lurking behind that computer screen! If you really feel that you need to, though, private messages.
If you are ever going to go on leave, please post your absence on the Away Board - we'd like to know! :)
FIGHTING, CLAIMING & THE HERD-LANDS
Fighting will be judged by staff, and only the two fighting may participate in the thread. In a fight between a unicorn and a horse, they are equivalent in power. Fights have some requirements:
- 1: Two major injuries and three minor.
- 2: One full doge and two half dodges.
- 3: Five attack chances.
A minor injury is something that won't cause permanent damage, such as a gash or bruise.
A major injury is something that may have long term repercussions, such as a broken bone, eye injury, etc.
*your character does not have to die!*
POWERPLAYING and GODMODING are not permitted, and will result in an automatic loss.
An act of powerplaying is controlling the other person's character, i.e. "Jack shoved Jill, knocking her into the dirt." (Instead, try "Jack moved to shove Jill, hoping he would knock her down.")
Godmoding is different - modding is when your character becomes godlike - avoiding all attacks, evading death/coming back to life, sprouting magical powers, knowing something is going to happen before it does, etc.
To have a herd you must claim a territory. If there are no open territories at the time, and you would wish to have one, you will have to challenge the leader of whatever land you wish. When and if you do get a herd, you must keep it active! An active herd is defined as a herd gaining about three members a month. Your threads must be active as well. If you can't keep the herd active, then ask for some help from your herdmistress or herdmaster. Make a team effort! If a herd still can't be kept active then it will be taken away and placed as abandoned territory up for grabs!
To claim an abandoned land, post up a thread of your horse arriving, making his or her decision, and if the admins find it good enough, one of them will replying asking you to post up your ranks, and then will lock and sticky the threads.
