Adelphi turned away from the barren city street exasperated at her inability to find another equine. She snorted loudly and shook her tiara to rid herself of the drowsiness that threatened to overcome her. Far off in the horizon the sun dipped past the outline of skyscrapers until it faded from view. Behind it left a cold wind that blew about in the city streets wailing as it turned around bends and corners. Adelphi shivered slightly her pelt prickling with unease at the long shadows that bent from every protruding figure. She picked up her speed and began to walk with a haste in her steps as if her very life depended on it. ' I am so not cut out for this, should've stayed home', Adelphi thought fighting the urge to just squeeze her eyes shut and hide somewhere until morning. But the mare kept her pools wide open and glancing from side to side ready for anything to pop out. Suddenly a sound clinked startling Adelphi. She set off at a run, not even realizing it was just a can rolling down the street. The dappled mare was soon galloping desperately, turning corners as fast as her long pillars could carry her. She didn't even know how far she had gone, only that she had to keep running. Running until her lungs burst and she collapsed. The scenery around her shifted and blurred, their colors transforming. The grey was tinted with lines of green and blue while the occasional red and pink streaks laced through the earth beneath her. Even sound seemed to shift into something gentler, softer. No longer pounding against hard concrete she felt as if she were running through the meadows in her old home. Confusion pricked within Adelphi, was she dreaming? Had she fallen asleep back in those empty streets? Or... the thought hung on the tip of her tongue, dangerously close to falling into reality, 'Am I dead?' The mare's pools widened at this possibility, there was no place like this in the city, well at least as much as she knew there wasn't. Then where was she? The city had shifted, no more like transformed into a beautiful meadow sprouting vibrant striped clovers of pink and green. A glowing moon cast down its soft light upon the meadow giving it an ethereal look that filled Adelphi with wonder. While her mind was amongst the moon and clovers Adelphi missed the stone and rammed right into it. Her right forefoot collided with it, sending a sharp pain through her leg. The nymph stumbled, her dappled grey figure rolling through the clovers. They cushioned her fall, and made it quite painless even fun...sort of. Kind of like how one would imagine falling on a cloud would be, soft and fluffy. Adelphi rolled to a gentle stop her leg throbbing with pain. But it was forgotten for Adelphi had smelled the delicious aroma of the clovers and could not resist the temptation to reach down her boa and grasp the striped stalks between her ivories. It was absolutely delightful and sent a tremor of pleasure through her figure. Hunger gnawed at Adelphi and she took more into her mouth sighing with satisfaction when she was done. The dappled mare turned her tiara about her looking for another. The question still gnawed at her mind, Where was she? The land was so beautiful, unlike any she had ever seen. It could not be of this world, could it? " Surely I must be dreaming, this realm can not exist, it is too...too..." Her mind drifted off at that thought, sleep had at last caught up with the mare. She was tired from her long trek and the run had only tired her out more. Yawning loudly Adelphi stretched and shook herself, but she could not overcome the force that pulled her eyelids down over her crystal pools. " A little nap won't hurt..." Another yawn escaped her lips as Adelphi laid down her tiara upon the soft clovers. She felt safe here in this meadow of striped clovers and soft moonlight. The beauty of it was just so " unreal". It tumbled out of her kissers while her eyelids closed and sleep at last overcame her.
