Big round crystal pools gazed about, the astonishment at what she was seeing written clearly across her face. This land with its metal and brick was so different from her own previous home among the greenery. There she had awoken to distant birdsong and the rustle of grass, but here in this new realm she was met with the cold hard touch of concrete, rough against her velvet skin. Slowly she advanced into the foreign land, her hooves clinking lightly against the tar with a "clink, clink". Some may wonder what a horse, born among the hills, was doing ambling about i this unforgotten realm. That itself was a good question as Adelphi had to admit, she did not know herself. Perhaps she came adventure, freedom, or maybe just a change of scenery. One could not blame her, the city seemed so exciting to a mare who had never seen the gray and red materials, brick and concrete. Never seen anything past her frontdoor.
Soon the dappled mare began to wonder if this city was abandoned, she had not caught sight nor sound of any other living thing besides a bird or two flying among the many tall structures. She knew the humans had all died out, their imprints laid all around for her to see. Their large structures, massively tall, stood glinting in the soft daylight casting their harsh shadows down upon the streets. They reminded her of a colder version of the tree, with their height and the creeping vines that crawled up their sides. As she walked by one her reflection shone back in the glassy surface, following her every step with its own. Without realizing it Adelphi ran into a large blue--thing--? She actually had no idea what it was. It was hard, but smooth, shiny, and looked like a giant bug. 'Odd?' thought the mare. She gave it a nudge with her hoof and felt the thing give in a little, curiosity prompted her to push the thing harder and she leaped back in surprise when it...rolled. Walking in a large circle around the moving thing Adelphi hurried past it, no longer interested in what it was anymore. 'this realm is so strange, I feel as I could get lost in it just turning down one of these tunnels' The tunnels she referred to were alleyways, their dark shadow uninviting to the lost mare. At lasts she reached a road surrounded by brick buildings, the crimson stained walls slightly more cheerful than the cold hard grey of the previous structures. At once upon entering the land though, she smelt something that made her spirits rise. Horses. Lifting her tiara high with a hopeful glimmer in her crystal pools Adelphi trotted forward, her spirits rising with each step. The smells became stronger and led her forward deeper down the street. 'At last' thought Adelphi, ' I'll get to meet another equine, one who lives here and can help me find my way. Because I am seriously lost'. Banner streaming out behind her in a flowing wave of raven black Adelphi stared into the foreign land searching for another. [/size]
