The fae started along the lands, heading toward the looming shadow on the horizon. Her hooves pounded the ground, making a loud, blunt sound, like a hammer on steel. She followed a path made of black demise. It seemed to lead somewhere, but it did not seem at natural. She guessed it had been built by the former superpower of this earth, but she did not take time to wonder any further.
Equilibrium had taken much time to build a wall between herself and the rest of her life. Part of her did not want to believe she was going to start the next stage of her life in the dark spot where this passage ended, but then again, she never did fail to surprise herself. She let a slight smile paint her features. It was good to be back without fear in the world that had rejected her as myth for so long. Of course, she had not lived here in the times before the terrible creatures, or humans, as they were called, inhabited this earth, but she had visited despite the efforts on both sides to keep her away. She had would comply with the powers that compelled her, but she was truly a free spirit, unable to be contained by one place or another.
Her ability to fight was not her most prevalent asset, but she had learned to defend herself. She was much better with manner than mastery of strength, and she valued her charm and optimism to guide her through complicated situations. She would not call herself beautiful, though she knew she was quite striking. She did not looked like the pale, china figured femmes that danced by the sides of there mates, but instead she felt her countenance was that of confidence, and motherly welcoming.
She knew she was growing older now, and she needed to stay in one place. She had wandered in her younger years, and finally settled down for a while in her middle age, then moved on as soon as....she shook her sadness away, and decided now as she approached age, she needed to stay in one place again.
She wasn't ancient, just tired of the games life played. She decided she would enter the terra and just let life happened as it would. She had always had a happy-go-lucky quality, and it couldn't hurt to let that cancel out some of her caution, right?
As she thought, she realized she was nearing the large city. She crept closer and closer with each stride, and now she was upon it. Contrary to her belief, thought, that this would be the end of the path, she found the path merely converged to several smaller ones. She sniffed the air, hoping to derive clues from the winds. At first, the only odours were putrid, of rotting substance, and smoky ruin. Then, she sensed the scent of something distinctive down each. The first smelled of something only slightly familiar...the smell was recent in her memory though. Was it..horse? The other one smelled of unicorn. She quickly took the latter and let it lead on into the city.
She strode over endless roads, wandering in what she hoped was a line, and that she was not going in circles. She was surprised at the emptiness of the city, and regret filled her soul, knowing what destruction had taken place. She wandered a bit farther, and began to smell scents of a stag. She halted and wondered if she should go on or flee. She decided to take her chances and walk on.
Her dark tassels lapped her neck gently, blurring her into a shadowy but vivid painting. Her autumn-hued orbs scanned the horizon for another. She saw it, a brute standing not far away. She began to trot toward him. Debris lined the street, but she did not watch her fragile pillars as they caused an eerie echo in motion.
Suddenly, she was stopped, jerking forward. Her front dagger stuck in something, and ruined metal and wood scraps quickly shifted to cover and trap her hoof in that spot. She felt fearful a moment, and then smiled. She was nervous, wondering what the hellion would do, if he came over, and hope she did not need to be able to escape quickly. She let the friendly smile she sported calm her fears until her expression was genuine. She laughed softly at her foolish clumsiness.

It was certainly a wonderful feeling knowing something was yours. Or, in Capello's case, mostly his. Even though he was the leader of the land and the herd, the terra was still shared with the lord of the horned ones, Zerkzies, and possibly, some day, the terrain and leadership to the harrem would be shared with a lady friend of Capello's. But right now, he was just enjoying the moment. Enjoying the fact that he was responsible for a whole bit of land, and not juts himself. He was responsible for a herd, a large group of unicorns like himself. It was awesome.
The large, slender ivory brujo stood, amongst his land, feeling happy for himself. There hadn't been many moments in his life that he had felt truly happy for himself, even if he had experienced more than two hundred winters. Life had been all the same for him back when he wasn't in the city of New York. But now, he was truly contented for himself. A grin of satisfaction was framed on his greying mug, his eyes amused.
Though the land was not entirely quiet, it was still hushed. But, the hushed state of the land did not stay for long. His auds flickered back and forth, hearing all too familiar sound of hooves. Where was this sound coming from? A scent entered his flared nostrils, telling him the other equus was female. Curiosity got the best of him, and he surveyed his land, looking for the femme that stood among the rubble. He turned, his hooves moving him around, to spot a lovely vixen. She was darker in hue than himself, but very much unicorn, with a long, pointed horn jutting out from her forehead. She stumbled, and the stag galloped to her aid. He stood beside her, his long body towering over her on the ground.
"Might I ask your aquaintance, and what you are doing in my lands?" He was sure to put an emphasis on the my. [/blockquote]

{{Please put this on hold if it is supposed to wait.}}
Libby saw a figure wandering toward her and wondered who it might be. She had heard that there were powerful leaders presiding in these areas, and the rumors that followed them were no less than impressive.
She wondered what would happen if she were taken as an intruder, instead of a friendly newcomer. She hoped they would not take her as a threat. She felt a little panicky about her hoof being trapped, but then decided to let her worry evaporate. There was no sense in worrying. Maybe that horse wasn't even one of the terrible legends anyway. Yeah, maybe it was someone worse. She wouldn't let herself think that way. She hated how she fretted so much lately. Carefree was such a nicer way to live. She knew she could be that way again if she had the permanent company of another.
Instead of being eaten by anticipation, she remembered a time some piece ago, one scene filled with a brighter air than the present. 'My Spanish onion,' he had said, her father. She had never known why he called her that. She wasn't one bit Spanish in ancestry or manner, her father being a Fresian and her mother a Morgan. It had always made her laugh, though. She missed her father, and wished he could be here with her to see the great city. He had been born around here, she knew, but not in the actual city itself. He had never seen it as close as she gazed upon it now.
She let her mind come into focus once again, and noticed the figure was much closer. It did, indeed, appear to be a unicorn. As the figure approached, she noticed that it was most definitely a stag. It did not, however, appear to be the ivory-streaked brute she had heard so much of, but he did verymuch appear to be a great leader. His manner was with painted pride.
She tried to imagine what his position here was, and how long he had been here. She wondered what his past was like, and what sort of company he kept. She locked her orbs with his, and laughed again, realizing she could wonder all day, and accomplish nothing. Her laugh was pure, and innocent, not betraying any sadness and horror, but not the high fake laugh that was hard to hear, either. It was purely her expression of joy.
More seriously, she focused on the brute to her fore when he stopped, and looked as if he planned to speak. Her delicate bodice remained still, so as not to pull the rubble she was stuck in down upon the rest of her. She considered the hellion's words, as he addressed her.
She smiled, and responded as he finished. "My dubbance is Equilibrium. But I'd rather be called Libby, if you please." She paused a moment and then continued. "And currently, I appear to be stuck, in your lands." She was pleased to know she had stumbled upon a leader, for his words validated that is what he was. "What is your calling?"

OOC ... I think I'm okay to post, right?
The excitement of having his own terrain had calmed inside, and now Capello stood steady on all fours, his expression straight and unpredictable. His muzzle tilted upwards a tad, showing a sense of pride in himself. His stance was straight and confident, making himself look a little bigger. He didn't want to intimidate the femme, but more show her that he was the boss. His body swayed a bit with the breaths he took, a little quicker than normal as his pulse was.
His gaze rested on the mare, a unicorn like herself. Her elegant horn stretched out from the spot on her forehead, like Capello's own. It was a mark that proved they followed Zerkzies, and would follow him to the end. It was a thing of beauty, elegance, and made Capello confident. He had heard about the conflict between Zerkzies and Tyrina, and it was natural, being a unicorn, that he allied with Zerkzies, a unicorn like himself.
"Welcome, Libby. I am Capello, herd leader of the Rua."
OOC ... it's a really bad post, sorry. No muse. [/blockquote]

{{S'totally cool. I'm half asleep anyway and totally exhausted.}}
Libby looked at the hellion at her fore and wondered more about his origins. She couldn't guess where he had come from, but she guessed he had not always been in the plaguing city. She wondered how many followed to him, knowing that he was, most certainly the leader. He seemed quite ecstatic to have his position, but she figured that such exuberance was common in those who held that position, or perhaps it was in the nature of them, causing them to rise to the top.
She had never been the type to be a leader. In less kinder terms, she was merely a follower. She could be strong, and she could take control if she was called to the front, but she much preferred to follow the lead instead of making her own way. She was greatly obliged to come upon such an individual that could help her achieve this status. She felt she would be just as home following this brute as he would be if he agreed to lead her. She wondered if he would make an offer for her to stay, or if she should bring it up. After all, now that she had found another equine, unicorn no less, she didn't want to pass by and be alone, by herself again. This would be her new start, and it needed to be permanent.
She was quite glad she had come upon a seemingly amiable unicorn instead of something else. She hadn't seen much in the city, but she had heard that there were horses at war with all unicorns living here. This proved yet another reason why she did not want to be left an her own again in the city.
Libby suddenly observed that the stallion shifted his position, his excitement in the pride of his position fading only slightly. He looked quite proud and powerful, and Libby knew if he decided he didn't like her, she would be in quite a great amount of trouble. She was not even close to his stregth, though she wasn't weak. She was also trapped. She tucked her head lower and cowered back as far as she could, having a limited range of motion. Alarm crept into her crystal gaze.
Her tassels swept low down her crest, and she let her forelock blow in the slight breeze as she dipped down. She looked up only slightly, hearing his words. She responded, her tone clear and unwavering, despite her new apprehension. "Hello, Capello," she spoke, smiling."I am quite pleased to meet you." She hoped he would not ask her why she was here, because she was not sure how to answer. She had already avoided that question once through her response of being stuck. He seemed like an honorable stallion, and she thought perhaps he would help her out of her dire situation, instead of taking advantage of her as some might.

Capello felt the slight breeze rush through his mane that lay, long and undone, against his muscular neck. His surroundings weren't exactly the most beautiful, this place being the mere remenants of something that was, not is. That's how his terrain was defined - the culture, the civilization that was rather than is. It was a little unsettling to hear that a thriving, powerful race of creatures had been destroyed, and was now home to a creature that they had considered inferior. It was almost ironic.
His muddy brown eyes sensed a change in the femme's presence. Instead of looking confident, Libby suddenly seemed a little alarmed and insecure. He realized how she might see him - large, strong, a leader. And that she might be intimidated by him a bit. Exhaling a puff of breath, he tried attempted to make himself a little less scary and a little more welcoming. It was a little hard for him, though, because it had been his nature to keep his guard high. He softened his eyes a little.
"Well, since you appear to be stuck in my lands, would you be interested in making yourself part of my herd?" He asked.
Though, he didn't demand this question in a rude way. He simply asked it, his tone as light as if he were merely asking how the weather was to a close friend. He was interested in her response. Would she accept? He didn't want to push her into doing something she didn't want to, but he was looking for herd members and recruits to his forces. He didn't have much of a harrem, at the moment, for the inhabitants of his terrain only consisted of Mayuma, a vixen which he hadn't seen since he claimed the Rua. His thoughts wandered to her, wondering what had happened to unicorn which he had become aquainted with in Times Square. [/blockquote]

Libby stared at the Lord of these lands. She did assume that he probably served the great Zerkzies, and she wanted to make her alliance clear. She imagined her gnarled horn made her side clear enough, but she wanted to know that she followed the reign of Zerkzies, and therefore, she would be honored to be led by this wonderful breute, Capello. He seemed to be quite the leader and hold a great pride in his position. That led her to wonder how large his harem was. It could be non-existent or it could be thousands, either way she would think no less of him.
The question was, would she be accepted by the others as easily as she seemed to have found a common ground with Capello. They might all want to reject an outsider who knew almost nothing of their world-there conflict, their city life. Perhaps Capello himself felt that way, and was too polite to tell her. After all, she wasn't exactly getting replies that showed open warmness as she herself exhibited, but she had accredited that to his being a leader. Perhaps she was being to intimate and he preferred the more drawn back type.
Ah well, she wouldn't change herself to the liking of a stag, but she would try to conform to a life here as best she could if it was his bidding. She quite liked Capello, and didn't want to lose his company. She wondered, again, how to tell him she wished to belong to his harem, with him. Not to him, but gladly backing him. She wondered if he were lonely, and needed backing, or if he had already had a great family. This brought her back to the beginning of her thoughts, her mind tangled. She shook thoughts off with an intimation of a smile.
His frame seemed to lighten, and she was relieved. She hoped it wasn't pity he showed, but he did seem quite understanding. She tried to look confident, but she didn't want to insult him. She just shook, restoring feelings of naturalness, as was her usual wont to adapt. Her tassels danced toward him, and her orbs shone with anticipation. She thought of speaking, but no words came to her mind, and all she could do was smile, genuinely but silently save for her strong laugh in response.
She was relieved when he spoke again. She listened to his words carefully, trying to deduce answers to her questions from his words. She knew she was stuck, and she was a bit wary she had brought that, willingly, to his attentions. The second part of his statement, though, made her heart beat faster with excitement. She could have sprung forward and nuzzled him with joy, but being so debilitated she cried out with an exclamation of joy. "I would love to!" she shouted, and quickly added, "My Lord," hoping she had not offended him.

Her answer pleased him very much. An expression of contentment stretched the edges of Capello's maw, his unreadable face vunerable and terribly readable. His expression wasn't complex, nor was it unsettling, just plain happy. It was strange for the stag to show this emotion, usually keeping his cool more than necessary. Most found it frustrating that they weren't able to read his expression, his face, predict what was going on inside his head, but it was Capello's way of sheltering and filtering his emotions. He didn't want his muzzle to give him away.
Capello was glad for many reasons. There was reason behind this expression. The number one reason, the one that took the cake, was the fact that Zerkzies had accepted his claim on the empty terrain, and the brute was in the midst of starting a new herd. A new generation started in the Rua. The second was that the femme Libby, lovely and strong, had accepted his invitation to join his herd. He knew, though, that he must inform her that she one of the three inhabitants in this land.
The next reason that he was happy is a whole other issue. Capello was happy that his new life had finally started. Finally, he had gotten away from the old life he had (the life that he had been unhappy in) and he had finally started to move on. He was hoping that, sometime soon, he would find a mate fit for him. In time, he thought patiently. He brought his head back down to Earth, and spoke to Libby.
"I'm must report, though, that you are only one of three of the herd of this land, the Rua. Mayuma, another femme I've met, makes the third. This herd had only just started."
He was flattered when Libby spoke to him with respect, throwing in the words M'Lord. It made him pleased, and proud once again. He was beginning to like this Libby, and his mind wandered to her. Did she like the Rua so far? What did she think of him? Where had she come from? The lively tufts of grass that poked out through the ashphalt and concrete brushed against his coronets, tickling his hooves just a tad. He side stepped, removing the strange, annoying feeling, his hooves clicking against the ground. [/blockquote]

Libby was listening to the stag, but was lost in thought for a moment before he offered his response. She was lost in memories that clouded her mind. They were not recent memories, but they were still fresh in her head. After all that happened, she wondered sometimes how she could go on living, being so gentle with the world that had been so rough on her through the years. It was because along with the bad, there had always been good. At the end, there had been so much good that her life seemed like a slightly rotten cake, but covered in the sweetest icing anyone had ever found. Now was the end of the end for her-her final place of residence. She didn't plan on leaving-especially since Capello seemed so nice. Still, the memory came.
'Never, never tell me that I cannot do something. I will do anything I please. In fact, if I wanted to kill you, I'd do it right now. You only ever think about yourself. What you want and no one else.' he said to her. He should talk, she thought. Distressed, she responded, realizing it was a mistake only after the words had left her lips. It would be considered talking back to him. 'I was only concerned for your safety. It would do be no benefit.' Not a good idea. She had angered him.
She sighed, coming out of the memory, hoping Capello didn't prove to be like that. There was no way, right? Looks could be deceiving though. She liked possessing the quality to trust, but sometimes it was her greatest downfall. Still, she would go on trusting Capello until he gave her a reason not to. She had always liked to be true to that philosophy.
Her tassels whipped her neck lightly as she thought. As she considered the values that she held, she tried to pull her hoof free once again. She bent her head around, and wondered if she could move the debris, but turned back to Capello, seeing she most likely could not. Her slight movement of hooves echoed just slightly, a gentle pattern of sound in the ominous, unnatural silence of the city. It was a bleak scene, but the dryness of that was canceled by the hope in the equine's orbs. The likeness of a smile had not left her countenance so far.
She heard Capello speak, and was not overly surprised. He did look as if he had been newly granted his position, judging his exuberance, and she didn't mind a small number at all. In fact, she preferred that to a larger harem in some respects. She knew that the hellion would probably want to have a larger herd right now, but everything had to start somewhere. And she was helping a little, at least, being another addition to his family. "I don't mind at all; I'm quite excited to have come," she responded. She was beginning to start to wonder about the third member he had mentioned, worried she might not want an intruder in the small group. They do say two's company, but three's a crowd. Or is that what they say?
As she though, she tried to pull her hock and hoof away from the rubble. She pulled and pulled again. She decided to just give one large jerk to free herself. She tried that, but the rubble didn't move. It just cut into her leg. She cried out a little in surprise.

Capello's thoughts moved to Mayuma. Where in this broken land was she? He still had yet to see her in the Rua, and missed her presence. It was certain that this land required more inhabitants, and Capello would see to this job himself, and possibly ask for the aid of Libby, if she wouldn't mind. But the pitch black vix still remained in his memory, and he again found himself wondering what had happened to May. He had lead her here, and he had thought she had been following.. was she? His expression saddened a tad.
The stag's expression turned content once again, much thanks to Libby's words. She was a very optimistic femme, it seemed, and it was rubbing off on Capello. The brute felt happy for the femme, for his herd.
"I'm glad to hear it. Make your self at home, Libby. I must go to the claiming lands to persue more herd members." He said politely.
He felt a little bad for leaving the femme, though, but it was now his duty to gather more herd members of the unicorn race. Capello was tempted to extend this invitation to Libby, but assumed that she would probably like to rest and make herself at home in this new land.
OOC ... Sorry, another terrible post. >.> [/blockquote]
